Signs Its The Holidays

Posted on

Am I the only one who really doesn’t feel like its the holidays? The tree’s up, but no lights or decorations on it yet. Though the rest of the house is mostly decked out. The christmas cds are playing most of the time (or the tv channel with all the xmas music) cards are starting to arrive… and yet, I’m not in the holiday mood though I am eating the cookies and the fourth batch of fudge :o)

Maybe its the fact the only thing wrapped is the stuff that still needs to make its way to the post office. Or the fact there’s shopping that just won’t get done.

So, what’s the one big sign for you its the holidays?

  1. For me, the biggest sign is when it takes an hour to get to the mall because of traffic, and then I have to park in the overflow lot (and risking my life running through the lot). Then, once I’m inside, people crashing into me and invading my personal space. That’s usually the big “ah hah” moment that it’s “that time of year.” 🙂

  2. Hi… I have not felt the holiday spirit for several years. I feel better when I stay away from the malls and other areas filled with stressed people.

My husband and I relax in front of the TV and watch the birds. No gifts. A few cards. That is it…

  3. That’s definitely a big sign of the time of year. I remember years ago it was storming out it took us three hours in the car to get the last two blocks to the mall. Horrible.

Hi Cynthia! Sounds like you’ve found a way to spend the holidays in a low key stress free way :o) The less time I spend at the mall this time of year the better, not fond of the pushy crowds
